I remember a guy I used to work with (probably 35 years ago or so) killed himself driving drunk. He was speeding and wrapped his car around a light pole. I remember thinking at the time, "Well, at least he killed himself before he could kill somebody else."

>When I was fifteen, I had a high school friend who was killed by a drunk driver. My friend was walking near a bridge, when a guy who was drunk came FLYING across in a van...he hit my friend and killed him. This kid (his name was Joey) was a straight A student, a good athlete, and funny as hell. He was actually the first person I admired who was my own age....and his life was taken in seconds.

>It was three days before summer vacation, and I spent much of the summer either angry as hell or depressed as hell. So drunk driving is like a mortal sin to me. It is hard for me to imagine any sentence they could have imposed on Stallworth that I would have considered excessive.
