>>>Your list uses 'sex scandal' in very loose way. Most dems from the list got in more serious problems than just sex.

>Clinton was impeached for perjury and obstruction of justice, i.e. Monica sex was clearly minor issue; though sexual harassment accusation in Paula Jones was not. It was reported, if I remember correctly, that McGreevy put his lover on state rolls and Spitzer favored illegal sex outlets. Any republican could go to jail for these things. Do you find any comparisons between Sanford/Ensign situations and those above-mentioned Dem guys?

We definitely don't know enough about the Sanford case yet to know whether there was any misfeasance or malfeasance. I did read this morning that he went to some trade event in South America within the last year or so, so something may yet emerge.

Vitter's case involved "illegal sex outlets." How come he didn't have to resign? Craig was arrested and charged (and initially pleaded guilty). How come he didn't have to resign?

I'm not going to argue that any of these guys behaved well, but I think the data show that the statement I originally responded to was simply not true.
