>>Clinton was impeached for perjury and obstruction of justice, i.e. Monica sex was clearly minor issue; though sexual harassment accusation in Paula Jones was not. It was reported, if I remember correctly, that McGreevy put his lover on state rolls and Spitzer favored illegal sex outlets. Any republican could go to jail for these things. Do you find any comparisons between Sanford/Ensign situations and those above-mentioned Dem guys?

Surprisingly or not, but I am not going to argue either that any of these guys behaved well, but I think the data show that the statement I originally responded to was simply not true. Craig factually resigned, because it was right before the elections and he took his name off the ballot. Your ideas about Sanford are very exciting but they are not supported by facts. On the contrary, Clinton, McGreevey and Spitzer had more (much more in Clinton case) than just 'sex scandal'. Frankly, I am not quite informed about all political scandals, so you may help me: was Vitter's case exactly the same as Spitzer's?
