Here's my problem if I don't used macro substitution

thisform.grid2.RecordSource="&sqlpaydet" -> change to this (sqlpaydet) and it works
thisform.grid2.column1.ControlSource="&sqlpaydet..ts_date"
thisform.grid2.column2.ControlSource="subs(CDOW(&sqlpaydet..ts_date),1,3)"

but the controlsource I could not address the correct syntax.
