Hi Christian,
>That's why I thought the shortcut could come in handy. What do you think?
I can strictly speak from my experience only... I personally would disable a global hot key in a messaging application. Either the application is important to run always, then I can ALT+TAB to it very easily, or launched frequently, then I would place it into the start menu in a way that I can quickly run it with Windows plus very few keys. Since the messaging application is about typing, I wouldn't care if I need one key combination or five keystrokes in a row. I would continue to type the message text anyway.
I do have one application that I activate with a hot key and that's Onenote with Windows+Shift+N. I keep a lot of stuff in there and therefore appreciate that I can quickly activate it without using the mouse.
Others probably see it differently, which is, why it's always important to make global key combinations configurable including the option to turn them off.
