>>>Give me a BREAK.
>>>
>>>Didn't know whether to put this in News or Entertainment.

>>>MJ's "funeral service" was on 2 of the terrestrial channels simultaneously this evening. I made the mistake of watching it whilst eating my dinner (nothing on the other sides). Nearly made me gag. With filibustering speeches by politicians and all, gold coffin, schmaltz, and overall sickening jackophancy.
>>>
>>>Noticeable also just how few famous faces were there - no E Taylor, D Ross.
>>
>>Liz Taylor was invited to speak but said she was too upset to do it (they were very close friends).

>There were actually quite a few famous faces there - not just on stage but in the audience as well. I listened to it while working. Of all the performances, I most enjoyed Shaheen Jafargholi.

He was a sensation on Britain's Got Talent. A bit contrived and pre-planned, I thought. He came on and started singing some song. Simon Cowell stopped the proceedings (unusual) and asked if he had another more approp. song. Hey presto! he pulled "Who's Lovin' You" out the bag.

It'll no doubt be on YouTube by now, if it wasn't before. Anyway, it would seem the little Taff's future is secure. Tough he didn't get to do the 51 gigs with MJ. Mind you, that much proxim, to MJ for so long - might have changed his life in an unexpected way. Nuff said.

>Paris' comments at the end of the ceremony reminded everyone watching or listening that it was also a memorial for someone who was dearly loved as a father.

I remember a young, apparently 100% Caucasian girl talking about her father.

I saw a lot of dripping honey and fell asleep to a few speeches. Smokey's was OK though.
