And that last is the point. In the parts of the world where the terrorists live, there are plenty of other people who don't hate us, but whose attitude toward us was not helped by what we've done in the last 8 years. We need to win those hearts and minds, not the terrorists themselves, but others who live in the same countries. The only way to defeat the terrorists is by marginalizing them and we need others of the same background with us to make that happen.
