We're lucky in this case - the word we use is "snimi", which means recording to a tape or taking a picture or a movie scene. All of the meanings assume there is some info being written to a physical medium, and the users quickly understand the concept of data on screen having to be written elsewhere. It fits with their intuitive image of a paper being stuffed into a folder. "Save" is probably a very wrong word, and the dimensions of a button don't allow for much of a better description, so this is one occasion when I'm better of with the language :)
