>>Hmm, you missed Reagan's governorship of California and head of the SAG, and JFK's commanding a PT boat. Obama - yep a community organizer.

>>No, I knew that Reagan was governor of California, and gave a speech at the 1964 RNC that catapulted him. Reagan's appeal and rhetoric were much stronger than his actual bite. I often liken Reagan to Forrest Gump - a man who often stumbled and succeeded in spite of himself. Nations initially feared what he'd do, but soon learned he was really more talk. The truth is that Reagan was only slightly more clever than, say, Sarah Palin - but he was a better actor and had a stronger supporting cast. It's no secret that his closest advisors felt he was overmatched in talking details on how to turn the economy around in 1980.

>Ronald Reagan was clever enough to defy his advisers on the issue of Communism. "Tear down this wall, Mr Gorbachav" comes to mind and his statement that Russia was the evil empire, plus his stance on the issues make him one of the greatest presidents. Kennedy would be up there with Millard Filmore if he hadn't been assassinated. He had no accomplishments during his tenure. As for Nobama, I fear you are correct. One of my daughter's thinks he is the anti-christ! haha - If he gets shot in the head, dies and then resuscitates, we've got some problems!

I give Ronald Reagan credit. He set the direction and let his advisers implement it. The incumbent seems to have learned from him.
