Obviously you are much fonder of listening to yourself than you are of listening to anyone else. I refuse to respond to anything else that you have to say because it is a waste of my time.

Oh, don't be a grump.

Please see message #1413515 . You did say that the CBO disagreed that transposing the Canadian system to the US would save $. If that's not what you meant then I apologize for listening to what you said rather than what you meant. ;-)

Seems to me that much of the cost concerning the CBO comes from proposed additional burden on taxpayers to provide extra benefits to which many taxpayers will not get access and on top of the existing premiums they pay. This is an extension to the existing system and is dissimilar in every significant respect from the system in Canada and the other socialized care models. If people write those models off you are guaranteeing extensions and duplications that in the end *will* cost more money.
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
"
