I don't seem to have much luck finding out a clear answer to anything other than the cost of Microsoft Mappoint 2009 - the standard edition not the fleet one. Anyone have any clues here to point me in the right direction?

Well - I called the 1-800 number - interesting the lady I talked to was not much help - I'm going to try calling again tomorrow and talk to someone else. For some reason the "how much does it cost" question was impossibe to get an answer. Anyway she did send me a 128 page word document about product user rights. One thing that really baffels me:

B. Exceptions and Additional Terms for Particular Products.

For MapPoint 2010 Fleet and Standard Editions:

Use of Maps.
• You may not provide real-time vehicle guidance. You may not calculate or recommend a route or ordering of destinations based on the location of more than one vehicle.

Fleet Applications. Fleet applications are software that use MapPoint, and data from sensors used specifically with multiple vehicles to provide location information (such as GPS systems and triangulation devices). You may use MapPoint with fleet applications only if you license MapPoint Fleet Edition. For MapPoint Fleet Edition, you may use the software with fleet applications for any number of vehicles.

......ok. So what the heck does THAT mean? What I want to do is have a bunch of drivers start in the morning, run my program and it tell each driver where he's going to go for the day - so that means I need to calculate and recommend a route of destinations based on the location of more than one vehicle, right? So what the heck - I can't use the FLEET edition to calculate routes for more than 1 vechile? What the heck is the point of a FLEET edition if you can't do that???
