There is one thing that can cause surrealistic FoxPro behavior on a Novell server: Suppose the files are installed by a certain Novell user. Then, that userid is removed from the Novell system (with syscon). The files no longer have a valid owner.

Usually this leads to inconsistant permissions problems, but I wouldn't rule out any other strange antics. You can check file ownership with the NDIR command. If this is the problem, you can fix it by having a valid user simply, um, copy the files to a workstation, delete them off the server, then copy them back.
