>The Sox finally winning it all in 2004 has lost some of its luster with revelations that a lot of them were gooned on juice. Ramirez and Ortiz for sure and I suspect some others as well.

>News flash - MANY were juiced. That doesn't make it right - it was wrong - but the notion that the Red Sox victory was tained is ridiculous.

>As for Ramirez, there's no question he was juiced - as for Ortiz, I wish this goddamn committee would just release the list of the 104 names and what they tested positive for. While I think athletes are morons for getting caught because the supplements or over the counter stuff had something they didn't realize, there IS a difference between that and actively seeking steroids.

2003 was the first year of testing and I am pretty sure there was an agreement that results from that year would not be released. A test phase, so to speak. The results we have been have come from leaks.

I do think winning the World Series when their two leading hitters were using steroids does taint it. Of course it's no secret now that there were LOTS of guys using through that period (already being referred to as the Steroid Era) but I am uncomfortable with the position that they were on a level playing field since so many guys were doing it, so what the hell.
