>Halliday is one of those rare pitchers who, if he gives up a couple of hits on bad pitches, can say to himself, "Ok, enough of that" and go on to shut the batters down. He's always said, "One pitch at a time."

>IMO, two of the best pitchers in MLB are Halliday and Cliff Lee.

>Here are Halliday's numbers since 2002.... aside from an injury-riddled 2004, the man has been a workhorse....a good ERA (especially in the American League), walks less than 2 per game, and fans close to a hitter an inning. And all this for a .500 team.

He won his 12th today. Usually he has to throw shutouts or close to it to win. Today they got him some runs. And we're going to lose him. He's been operating at a cut rate salary on the yearly promise that we're rebuilding and we're gonna be a contender. Also, he likes Toronto because he can live here without cameras in his face wherever he goes. He likes his anonymity a lot. I think he's given up on the promises now and is just looking forward to free agency. It won't affect his pitching because he's not made that way. Classy guy. Volunteers for all sorts of community stuff. His wife does too. Hard folks to lose - baseball or not.
