>>Since we are on hamburgers, I was pleasantly surprised by McDonald's new 1/3 pound Angus burger. I had a coupon so decided to try it. Not bad at all. You wouldn't call it a gourmet burger but it is way better than anything else Mickey D's or Burger King offers IMO. Probably about a million calories. (No, I don't want to know).

>You may be right. The monsterburger has 1420 calories, but that's US calories which are called kilocalories in the tiny lost place called the rest of the world. You do the psychoanalysis.
What's a monsterburger?
As far as the definition of calories, the rest of the world should get with the program and adopt the U.S. standard. What's their problem, anyway? Next thing you know they'll be clinging to the metric system. If miles, feet, inches, ounces, and pounds are good enough for us they should be good enough for them.
