Thanks for your input. Although I am not sure if your first statement is 100% correct. M$ invents new technology every couple of years so "WPF is the way to go" might turn into "WPF are won't get updated by MS in the future" in no time {g}.

And your point about WPF having steeper learning curve and that tools are still in the infancy, does not make the move to WPF so attractive. But are right about these things.

>Those are the same comments many people made when WPF first came out. Here are some facts to maybe clear things up:

>- Winforms are won't get updated by Microsoft in the future. WPF is the way to go
>- The IDE in VS2010 has been rewritten in WPF (believe it or not, the IDE in prior versions was COM-based)
>- WPF is suitable of all kinds of applications, even data entry. In fact, you can make data entry even easier and better
>- WPF has a much steeper learning curve than WinForms
>- WPF tools are still in their infancy. VS2010 definately has the best tools yet, but there is still room for improvement

>>You just did {g}. Seriously though, why do you think WPF is better than Winform? I admit that I know almost nothing about WinForms and even less about WPF. But I need to make a decision (recommendation) to a VFP customer on to what are we going to convert the VFP application. My understanding is that WinForms is the closest to VFP in terms of look and feel. WPF (from a little description I read) I believe is a graphical subsystem and I thought more suitable for graphical business applications rather than data entry type. Again, I am just guessing from the little I have heard/read about it. But I would love to hear your input on this since you have already working with WPF. And I thank you in advance for sharing.
