It's hard to say a lot about these tools, because they simply work and you only notice them if they are missing. The user interface is very simply and hides the work that is done behind the scenes. So far, Red-Gate had been quite responsive when I had an issue.

Often you need both, for instance, for configuration tables. If budget permits, one of the bundles is usually a more cost-effective solution.

Chris, thanks for this review. I downloaded the trial and have only had time to check out the SQL Doc, and I was very impressed. My SQL Server 2000 database is on a shared hosting service at web.com, and so it is remote. It was literally a few seconds and the whole database was documented in Word, complete with reconstruction scripts. I'm glad to see someone who has been using their tools for some time and still is impressed with them. When I can afford it I will probably get one of their bundles.
