>>>Thanks for posting this story. There are some hard core 'free enterprizers' in the States who need to hear the truth from one of their own.

>Ok. I've read it 3 times and do not get the point. The man found the a surgeon in Canada and his insurance paid 85%. What's so horrible and more to the implied point, how does this compare to someone who comes to America and pays out-of-pocket to avoid the waiting list to get their surgery in their home country?

This might be of interest - "The cost of my outpatient surgery in Montana was estimated at $7,000 to $9,000. My total bill in Canada with three days in the hospital, "because you live so far away we want to be sure you are OK," was $2,180" Perhaps when you have a proper health care system in the U.S, your hospital bill for surgery will be one third of what it is now too. Did you notice that the 'evil lineup' was not mentioned? That's because there was none. I suspect you are being grossly misled by the right wing fear mongers.

At the root of the US high cost for health at two things - Huge malpractise settlements and very expensive insurance for doctors and patients. The actual medical side of the issue is very good.
I ain't skeert of nuttin eh?
Yikes! What was that?
