I was surprised to learn how competitive the nursing programs are.A healthcare qualification makes you essentially recession-proof and (especially for nurses) a recognized certification allows you to travel and work practically anywhere in the world with minimal fuss compared to non-healthcare professionals. If she wants to stay in the US she'll have plenty of job opportunities and need never be unemployed. So it's a great ticket.
