If your team decides that case sensitivity is an important issue, they can pick a language which enforces this. If they don't think it's an issue or don't want the compiler enforcing it, pick a different language. What some people see as a detriment in language other people see it as a feature. So is the language dictating your standards or are you picking the language based on what you think those standards should be? It works both ways.
