Unfortunately my daughters are terrible with money, as I learned when I was in Baton Rouge. I got an extra credit card in Allie's name for emergencies during the week such as gas, milk, and the like. They were using it for everything under the sun. And the grocery receipts were half soda and snack food.

For me at least, cold is not a deterrent to running. I can run in just about any temperature. It's actually quite pleasant once you get going, much more so than running in extreme heat. The only things that keep me from running in the winter are heavy snow and ice.

>Good idea. Also, when they leave for school, have them take the cablebox with them each day. Another good idea is to get a treadmill or stationary bike (it is Chicago after all and gets very cold) and every time the idea to drink comes along, get on the bike or treadmill with a bottle of water. A physician friend of mine told me that men get in terrific shape when they quit smoking because they tend to substitute exercise for smoking to kick the habit while women are more likely to substitute food.

>>>Yes, I do understand that. We sometimes think of alcohol as an upper, since it makes us more lively (not necessarily in a good way), but in fact it is a depressant.
