Well, Pete, I guess you are a bit older than me, so I will listen to my Elders on this. Ha! I just turned 56 yesterday. It's just another year, but the odometer is still turning.

I could kick myself for letting these years slip by without having conquered C#.

I appreciate knowing how you proceeded, since you were a dedicated and dyed in the wool FoxPro programmer first. I will move forward with both SQL Server, of which I have some years of experience (but in my opinion still not as much as Id' like) and C#.

>Hello Cecil, I, like you, have used Fox for years - until a couple of years ago - my company decided that they wanted all their main apps ported from Fox / Access to .NET/ SQL Server. I knew NOTHING about either. Six months later I had the first one go live - it was the simplest one maybe !, but it was excellent to cut my .NET teeth. Once you write your data handling classes ( plenty of examples on the site ) you will be up and comfortable in no time. C# is the language of choice for me , and SQL server is awesome once you get used to writing stored procedures ( I was a died in the wool procedural programmer in Fox ) and optimising your queries. Go for it Cecil - you'll love it. By the way - I'm 57 next birthday.
