You know, the same functionality that is found here in the UT editor being used to create this message. No sir. That would be too easy.

>>>Mike,
>>>That bothered me too and I don't think that there is a way. Blend doesn't really sound to be a tool for developers. Besides weird behavior like you described it has other quirks like claiming that a perfectly valid XAML is invalid. A simple example would be SL 3 toolkit's autocompletebox (datagrid). Despite all the namespaces are defined and XAML works perfectly under VS it gives invalid XAML in Blend.

>>Maybe I should start wearing turtleneck sweaters next and call myself a "designer". Seriously, I wonder how many UT members work for a company that has full time "designers" on staff.

>Full time! Give me one who works with me 1 hr a week:) Seriously whenever I open Blend I think "once again wearing the hat of a designer and I am not, give me the code windows where I want to live:)". I found that I am 'designing' in VS pure in code (blindly w/o a visual appearance till I run it).

Kinda takes the "visual" out of Visual Studio for you huh? This is the second issue I'm aware of where the "visual" is lacking in VS. The other being not able to visually subclass the base controls.

>PS: VS nicely formats the XAML after I setup it in options. Blend doesn't even do something similar and I need to scrooolll right too often. Its toolbars are also weird. VS 2010 I think will be my best friend with its much better design time support, drag and drop bindings etc.

That's very interesting to hear. If I'm not mistaken, there were some posts here recently stating the exact opposite. They stated that VS's WPF editor was not much use and that any real designer stuff needed to be done in EB!

Seems like MS has a WPF editor that sucks in both products and really needs to concentrate on creating one good one first.
