I didn't say that nor do I agree it is like it. I have done assembly many years ago and no it is surely not like that.

VS2010 has an excellent support for design time (better than Blend IMHO) you can do it visually and/or in code. Even in Blend I switch to code often because it is easier to do in code rather than to struggle with mouse and overlaying objects.
