I'm doing a Windows 7 Home Premium Upgrade over my Windows Vista Home O/S installation right now on my HP Laptop. The announcement at the beginning said that it may take hours to do the installation; is it that much of an improvement over Vista Home.

I received a notice that I should stop the upgrade, and update my device drivers for the Keyboard Filter first. I decided to ignore that warning and go forward with the installation anyway. I hope that's not too big of a deal.

>So long as you don't take the option to re-partition/re-format your drive, all of your old folders stay intact...and your existing WINDOWS and PROGRAM FILES are moved to an OLD.001 folder structure. I have no clue why they say what they say (maybe to get people to do backups anyway?), but so long as the drive isn't re-formatted, data should stay intact. (as far as everything I've ever seen)
