Hi!

Just got VS6 and since then, many times (not always), when I log out of my NT Workstation, I get an error saying that "memory [address here] could not be 'read' blah blah blah". I can get the error even with an administrative account, and I don't have to run anything in Visual Studio to get this error. Again, the error doesn't come up all the time. I'm trying to find a pattern, but I can't find any yet.

It's not the usual Windows error (at least it's the first time I see it), so I suspect it might be the Windows NT Symbol Setup that VS' setup told me I should install. When I installed those symbol files, I got errors saying that the debug files didn't correspond to the DLL files I had, and that not all the debug files where present on the CD.

I am going to try de-install and re-install VS6, but I was wondering if there was anything known about this. Is there a way to uninstall just the symbol files?

NT Workstation 4, not connected to a server
Service Pack 3, no hotfix
