When I tried to upgrade my Vista laptop to Win 7 32bit, the upgrade required that I uninstall SQL2008 developer and several other applications - it would not proceed w/o uninstalling. I canceled out - it seemed to take any enthusiasm for the upgrade away since I was going to have to uninstall and then reinstall several major applications.

I wound up just reformatting and doing a clean install from the ground up.
