I have been tasked with connecting to a quickbooks install from VFP.  I have

been following Marcia's article on connecting VFP with quickbooks with great success (thanks Marcia).  But I have a performance issue at least with my test environment.  Most of the time spent
is in the OpenConnection() and starting the BeginSession() methods.
Sometimes it takes over 11 seconds just to run the two methods.

I'm hoping someone might shed some light on the matter.

I have installed the "Simple Start Edition" of QB.  It's the free version (I
also believe it's the single user version).  I also installed the latest QB
SDK 8.  Both on the same XP box.  I had to add a little code to cover the
authFlags issue that Marcia's article did not cover and it all works.  The problem is the
performance.

I noted that Marcia discussed the use of "Remote Data Sharing" and the
performance hit you have when it is not available.  But I do not understand
the paragraph.  Is RDS something I need to install?  I am using the wrong
version of QB?  If I buy the enterprise version QB will the performance
increase because of the use of RDS?

I was hoping my app would create a connection do it's work and then release
the connection - real time updates.    That will allow reuse of user
licenses - hopefully just one or two.

Thanks in advance
