It's not the same in Russian - I tried to translate these 2 phrases back in Russian - not that easy.

Никогда не думала (past), что идиотская шутка повлечет (present) за собой изменение опций (!!! there is no actually Russian word I can think of to say "settings/preferences") в IE.
If it's not broken, fix it until it is.
