Did you try DOEVENTS in your main loop?
How are you launching the service>?

>We have an application that we have written that we use to synchronize local FoxPro tables to remote SQL tables. This application sits on a timer, and every twenty minutes or so starts synchronizing. When the synchronizing runs it loops through the list of local tables, getting and sending updates as required.

My problem is that I cannot get the application to recognize a shutdown command whilst it is in its main synchronizing loop. I have looked at the ON SHUTDOWN command, but cannot get that to do anything.
