Sorry to tkae the pragmatic view, but MS is in business to make money. They will kill Access when it doesn't make money anymore and not before. They will kill VFP when it does't make money any more, and not before.

They will position SQL server top make the most money they can with it. Journalists can read their crystal balls all they want, they hove no more idea of what will happen than you or I do. Even MS doesn't know when and if Access will die (or VFP foir that matter). Any assurances you get about this stuff, either fomr the journalists or MS, is just window dressing.

My approach to this kind of stuff is to ignore it and get on with my daily work.
