Maybe the answer is that the right to bear arms should be matched by the obligation to show social/national responsibility? E.g. to hold a handgun you have to be a member of an accredited gun club at which you must attend x training sessions per year and participate in related process? I said before that I believe in background checks and other controls - I certainly do NOT agree with being able to walk into a Walmart and buy a gun. I'd also fully agree with registering a weapon only after someone has passes a set of tests, training session, etc. I am 100% in favor of that. It is a huge responsibility to own a weapon.
