You could be right. OTOH I'm not sure what 'murder' means in the context of that link. I'd assume that for it to be 'murder' someone must have been caught and convicted - otherwise it should be defined as 'killing' rather than murder. So the figure may say more about the detection and conviction rate than about the number of killings. Then, at the bottom of this list, it states that this is the 'total recorded intentional homicides' - still another definition since homicide is often not illegal.

Just nitpicking really,
