>>>Remember how a few months ago everyone was getting those scam phone calls for car warranties? Well now there is another one that's calling about credit cards! The car warranty ones finally stopped after they called a senators cell phone one too many times...wonder how long this one will go on. Apparently the car one was making around 120,000 calls per DAY. the number that's called me was 616-597-4022 - I suppose I should contact the FCC and complain.

>>I got one of them today, but it was 610-404-3141. I don't answer "unknown caller" but they left a recorded message concerning lower credit card rates. I googled the number and there were many complaints, so I reported the number to the "NO CALL" web site.

>Last year it was from a local number, some sales outfit was hired to pimp the services of another local company. I sent a very angry message to the company (they seemed so eager to get any publicity at all, so they had real emails of the top staff - which was probably all the staff they had) and promised to blog them to death if I ever get another phone call.

In this sense I guess I really am a bleeding heart. I don't like prerecorded phone messages but I never jump on people who call up to solicit me. If it's a woman with a nice voice I may even flirt with her and see how long I can keep her on the phone. Otherwise I just tell them politely I am not interested. They're just trying to make a living. I sure wouldn't want that job.

The one time I can remember getting into it with a "badvertiser" (good word) was with some southern guy selling I don't remember what. I said I was not interested and he would not take no for an answer. Finally I hung up on him. He called back! "Ah'm gon come up there and kick your a*s!" I said you could lose your job for this and then he was really off to the races. I hate this sh***y job, my woman left me, on and on. It was a good thing he was hundreds of miles away.
