Remember that by moving from a VFP app to a SQL/.NET app. you will very likely achieve greater back-end performance and economies of scale.

Can you justify that? Assuming that SQL Server is a constant (IOW that we aren't actually comparing local tables to a decent C/S backend) compare use of Remote Views catering for empty (null) datetime fields, to a VFP system using SP that also allows for NULL datetime, to a NET solution using the same SP. Where is the greater backend performance and economy of scale?
