>I think the issue I see is hypocrisy or false information. MS says that email and telephone support is included with the product you buy. But to me, 2 or 4 calls is not a support; it is a joke. If they said, as many companies do these days, no telephone or email support comes with the product, they would be honest.

I would think that you, like I, are in the business to make money?

I have one program that has been in use for 25 years. I never hear from 99% of the purchasers.....but, there is that 1% that would have me on the phone every day to help them with things they should be able to figure out for themselves. If I didn't charge them, they would drive me 'up a wall'. I don't mind 'getting started' calls, I just don't want to get on a first name basis with them....how about you?

I think that, if a person purchases MSDN, they are technically qualified, will purchase books, will participate on forums, to get most of their questions answered and only in emergency situations will need technical support from someone in India:)

>>It would be interesting to find out just how many people have ever called MS for support. I've been buying/using their products for 30 years and never found it necessary. Come to think, before the internet, I did make a call....think I was on hold for a couple hours:)

>>There are all kinds of support forums on the internet, both MS and sites like the UT....Who needs to use a technical support incident??

>>>For the kind of money they charge they give you 2 or 4 support calls?
