I have not tried to set mine in that configuration but since I am not the only one working on the files I would hesitate to trust myself to check something out. Hmmm ... does that really matter? More than one person can have something checked out at the same time anyway ... changes get merged when you check-in, either by allowing an automatic merge or doing it manually. Sometimes it pays to coordinate check-outs with others, depending on what you're both going to be doing to the same file, other times it doesn't matter. You can always lock a check-out too, so that no one else *can* mess with it at the same time.
