Hiya Jim ---
Sigh. Look, SQL is coming down in price and scale. Just learn the durned thing, OK? It'll help you out, really, as a flexible developer and you can *still* promote pure VFP solutions if you believe that fits the bill, OK?
>
>John, you are doing an admirable job of 'defending' MS' strategy of VFP as 'premier middle tier', but I'm afraid it seems to be coming from your heart rather than from your head!
>
Ouch! That really hurts! I am not defending anything!! I love VFP. I would like to see VFP be used in 99% of all MS apps. But....reality dictates a multi-tool role where each tool works best for a given assignment.
>
>We would be far better off, especially given the superficiality of the "integration of VFP into VS 6", for MS and the VFP team to get out of the VS dream and to, instead, go back to serving the small to medium business and its capability to deliver the WHOLE SOLUTION!
>
You can do that now regardless of MS's vision for VS....why make it tough for the rest of us?
