Thank you again for the sound advice. I have created a local view and everything seems okay except for my "join on / filter" portion of the command. I must tinker with that a while until I get accustomed to it. I copy and paste the SQL code created from the “local view wizard” and the cursor is created, but the child relationship is not working. That is what I must get a better grip on. I did not find an explanation to the two boxes in the join wizard labeled “Pri.”.

So as I understand, I can insert into or edit the view, and the source table will be updated by the DMF Manager auto-magically. Right? That does seem smart, after all the VFP9 engine is by far the best around.
