What kind of buffering?
Are your time stamps in the same table or a system table?

>I have a form with controls tied to a table in buffering mode. I want to add a date/time stamp for each field in the table, to show when a given field was last updated. Since the stamping fields are maintained in the background, I do not know how to update the fields in the table, since a REPLACE causes a buffering error. Do I need to create some variables which are then collected in the table, sort of like non-displayed form controls?
