>Josh, using aerror() has helped to identify the problem. My table has a field called DESC, which the SQL seems not to like. Changing the field to DESCRIP everything works, however I have many tables with DESC and changing them and all the associated reports, Clipper code .... Its a nightmare. Is there another solution ?

I'm coming in late here but I'm going to throw something out. I can understand why you're having the problem with columns named DESC, it's a reserved word. Does you the ODBC driver that you're using support Quoted ANSI identifiers? If so, try selecting it.
