I can't answer for Erik, but I had a similar case where I needed to find the age of people on their date of surgery. The index was on DateOfSurgery - DateOfBirth, and all queries had to be written the same way. Made for some interesting behind-the-scenes code in queries, since users really didn't want to enter > 23725 days instead of > 65 years. :-)
