This was a huge issue here in North Carolina. The colleges temporarily stopped allowing illegal immigrants in due to negative publicity. It was found out that they had refused citizens entry due to reaching their student limit so some citizenshps who qualified were denied. They were even allowed to pay instate tuition. However, a couple of months ago that went up to the boards for consideration again. They want to let them in because the colleges need money and illegals more often than not pay with cash or special scholarships. They stop, then let the ruckus settle down, then they start again. All colleges here are low on operating funds due to economic downturn so they are doing whatever they can to bring in money.

I really think sometimes that other countries don't have a realistic picture. Even folks here. In states where the illegal immigrant population is not as noticeable they don't see and feel the effect. Over 12 million and still thousands coming in everyday. That is unbelievable and unsustainable.
