I too have owned several Dell PCs and never had a problem with desktop or laptop. All have been consumer models. I would not hesitate to go with them again. I plan to replace my current Dell laptop with another one early next year.
Dell is one of the few laptop brands I haven't owned. I owned Toshibas and liked them, but they had a history of the motherboard frying after 15-18 months.
