Hi Al

Many thanks for all the advice,

To be honest I'd already tried Malwarebytes, Sybot Search & Destroy, & SuperAntiSpyware.

The only thing that I could do in the end was to go to DOS prompt & copy the files over using like you said XCOPY.

It would have been great to solve/remove whatever was blocking the paste function, but in the end using the old trusty DOS prompt did the job. I have used the DOS prompt in the past to delete pesky files that Windows Explorer refused to delete.

Hope they never do away with a DOS prompt of some sort, LOL

Many thanks for all your help

Rob

>If you haven't tried it already, a few of my clients have been saved by the freely downloadable Malwarebytes' AntiMalware (MBAM): http://download.cnet.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-10804572.html

Safe Mode prevents various services etc. from starting, it may prevent some malware from starting as well, in which case regular copying via Windows Explorer might work
