Very different from Don Denkinger's blown call in the 1985 World Series, which literally took the championship away from the Cardinals and gave it to the Royals As bad as that call was, it (in itself) did not take the title away. It set the stage for the two-run rally in the ninth inning for KC, and allowed KC to tie the series, but they still had to win game 7.
A very bad call at a very bad time? You bet - but KC still had work to do to win. (I was neutral in that series, I didn't care who won)
