I disagree completely. The President of the United States has every business making these kind of comments.

I'm sorry Kevin, but in this case, Obama's comments were/are completely inappropriate, and also flawed.

Just because we have a situation that has triggered a ton of emotion (and rightly so) doesn't mean the country's leader should react the same way. It is bad business, period, to replace a CEO in the middle of a crisis situation, and to try to bring in a new CEO. This is known as "trying to catch falling knives".

This business of Obama saying, "I would have fired the CEO right away for those comments" only demonstrates Obama's inexperience and incompetence as an executive.

I am not defending Hayward (the CEO), but remember this - he is the public face for the crisis - he catches much of the backlash from the public, from politicians, from everyone. Fire Hayward and what are you left with? Who the hell would want to step in and become the CEO before the crisis is turned around? Fire Hayward right away, and the more likely scenario is that a 2nd CEO comes in and is viewed as just as much a failure.

It is highly likely that Hayward is gone after the crisis is over - the Brits will make sure of that. But these "I would have fired him" and "I want to know whose ass to kick" is asinine on Obama's part - it's just another example where Obama wants to demonstrate the only weapons he really has here - his mouth and his executive orders. Obama once again isn't the "thinker" he's put out to be - it's another instance of him believing that he can give orders and make self-aggrandizing threats to make people believe he's doing something. He did this while in Illinois and he's doing it again. He is the biggest "pass the buck" president" we've had in decades.

You say Obama is "all over this". OK, tell me one thing he's done. Tell me one contribution he's made to solve the issue.

As for him being "on top of things", how about a week or two ago, before his much-hyped appearance to nail down the details on how/why his Interior Department chief of Minerals Management Service (Liz Birnbaum) was no longer in office. Obama's response..."You're assuming it was a firing...I don't yet know the circumstances". Hmmmm......

Going back further, his infamous flubbing a response at an early town hall meeting, when someone asked him about a controversial provision in the legislation, and Obama had to admit he wasn't aware of it. (All this, after endless television time promoting ObamaCare).

Obama has a clear history of being disinterested with facts/specifics....

I don't "hate" Obama - but I hate what he is doing to this country.
