For me the USA lack of interest is a good thing. USA commercial power would give them a big say in shaping the game and that wouldn't necessarily be a good thing (I can see it now 50 foot wide goals and stopping every ten minutes for adverts). Maybe you should compete on a state basis, it works for the UK we have England Scotland Wales and Northern Ireland potentially qualifying.
