on that specific date? Not because of some stupid maya "prophecy"? - My understanding on the subject is that this is the end of a cycle (i.e., of counting a specific number of days) for the Mayas, and that the predictions of disasters are modern interpretations; i.e., that the Mayas never predicted the EOTWAWKI. Not that it would impress me a lot if they did, either.
