John, economics is about actions and choices and value judgments of humans. It is NOT about who has the most money at any one time. Part of your problem is you're trying to reverse engineer from the prima facie absurdity of macro-aggregate numbers.

Show me where anybody said economics is about who has the most money at any one time. You made that up. The point I made is that the level of disparity is highest ever. I'm not the only person saying it, Emmanuel Saez wrote the original paper and received the John Bates Clark Medal from the American Economic Association. Perhaps you should gather up some slogans to explain to him why he and the American Economic Association are confused about what "Economics" means.

If anything you are arguing AGAINST the rising disparity by asserting that the middle class has the MORAL RIGHT to retain its earnings. That's the point: the middle class is the primary victim of this disparity.

FWIW commenting on an extreme is not to argue against *any* disparity- of course there has to be *some* disparity or there's no incentive to excel. But extremes are rarely associated with a good overall result.
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
